I am cleaning my air purifier today and then I will go to the beach and play some music at sunset with my heating supplier friend

I slept really well last night and I am hoping to do the same tonight so that I am well rested for my gig tomorrow. I am going to buy this medium djembe drum today and play on the beach at sunset with this guy who plays the flute all of the time. My other bandmate moved to a city a bit further away so we don’t have a lot of time to practice anymore. This is why I am going to start playing with the flute guy and see how it goes. I can’t keep waiting for my HVAC pro bandmate to get out of the city and come here to play at the local business, my time is ticking away and I don’t want to waste it waiting for him. He works some during the week but I think he spends most of his time thinking how bad his life is. I will get my duct sealing job done today and then go to that new contractor to buy the drum, then I will head to the beach and listen for the sound of that flute. I think the djembe drum and the flute would go well together and I think that we could make some cool songs if we worked on it. I think it is going to be a nice sunset tonight and maybe we can play for some people by the sea.

I am going to time myself later today with the Rubik’s cube to see if I can beat my 20 second record and get down into the teens. I think if I worked on it I could beat the time, but it really doesn’t matter because I can’t get anywhere with it as far as records go. The world record now for the cube is about 3.5 seconds, which is just insane if you think about it. I can’t imagine what the record will be in 25 more years if people keep working on it, maybe 2 seconds? My heating supplier told me that two seconds would be totally impossible but that someone could knock it out in under 3 seconds with luck. Who knows what the time will be, but my HVAC supplier friend told me that it is possible that someone will do it in 2 seconds in the next 50 years. I think there is a limit to how fast we can do the cube, but I never doubt what the human race can do if they try to do something. I have seen my cooling tech friend do the cube in under ten seconds while we were at a commercial a/c repair job, and he told me that two seconds is definitely possible in the future. I would love to see someone do the thing in two seconds, but I may not be around when the record is broken as I will be 105 years old in 50 more years. I’ll try it later today at the local business when I am there.

I’m actually ready for my old flame Kat to come walking back into my life.

I haven’t been with her for almost two years now yet she is still on my mind every single day.

I dated her briefly and she touched my heart like no other woman, but quickly disappeared when she went back to her ex and child, which I completely understand but am not content with. My one HVAC rep friend told me that if she moved out of the house with him it is only a matter of time till she does again and comes back to me. Dual fuel heat pumps are what keeps me occupied now but I still can’t shake the memory of her from my mind as I work each day for the heating corp. I would be so happy again if she came back, but I have to come to terms with the fact that she may never come back. The local service provider friend of mine met her and told me she was the most beautiful woman he has ever seen, which is why it is so tough to work for the HVAC supplier each day. I don’t know, maybe I am just delusional thinking she will return, but there is a part of me that keeps the flame burning and hopes for a miracle. I try to give people energy saving tips at work, but I barely have enough energy to make it each day to the local business where I work. I just need to let go of her and move on, but I’m finding it difficult to do so.

Like the HEPA filter sales lady told me; the whole game of life is played in the mind but if you think about it too much you can lose the game

My life is in a state of flux right now after switching from a career in standup comedy to that of a drummer in a band playing music. I have a newer band I am in but it is a bit tumultuous right now as I try to steady my guitar player’s mind and keep him in the game. Some artists get really caught up in their own sadness and seem to get bogged down by it to the point where they can barely function. I think it can stem from having lots of time on your hands, as heating and a/c work for the contractor keep my mind busy all day to where I don’t have time to think about whether I am happy or not. My bandmate has everything he needs to be happy; a place to live, food to eat, a lovely girlfriend, a dog, and a passion and talent for playing the guitar. He works for this new contractor doing gigs and makes money from local businesses when he plays outside of their locales. All of this yet he still feels sadness to the point that it is almost paralyzing to get out of bed. He told me this the other day, that he sometimes stays in bed because the fear paralyzes him into nonaction for the day. Like the HEPA filter sales lady told me; the whole game of life is played in the mind but if you think about it too much you can lose the game. I guess time will reveal the answer to us with this dilemma.

We just watched a video of a kid solving the Rubik’s cube in 2.86 seconds on camera.

It was an unofficial time but if you watch the video it was a legitimate solution, which means to me that we are going to try and break the two second barrier one day.

Just think how fast that is! I did the cube in 26 seconds back in 1981, which was about the world record at the time, and now we are down to about three seconds, incredible. The fastest robot did the cube in .38 seconds, which is insane. My cooling rep wants to solve it just once no matter how long it takes her, and working at the local business gives her a lot of time to practice during the slow months at work. I hope I live long enough to see someone do it in under two seconds, but that could take 50 more years to happen if it ever does at all. The HVAC company where I work is going to have a competition in a few months, and the winning HVAC tech is going to get a free space heater for their home. I could use one myself, so I am going to practice and see if I can beat my all time low of 20 seconds. I think I could win that heating device with a time under 30 seconds, so I am going to bust out my speed cube and blow the dust off of it to get ready for this HVAC company contest. It should be a fun time.

My stepmom used to write 120 words a minute, which means she could write one of these articles in just two minutes or so.

But there is no way I can type that fast and not make any mistakes. Heck, I couldn’t even think that fast to fill in the words to type if my speed was as fast as hers. She was a medical transcriptionist, so she just listened to the doctor speak and would type what he or she was saying. It is a bit different though when you need to make up your own heating and cooling stories, as the brain needs some time to think of what to say for each HVAC article. I am closer to 40 words a minute if you factor in correcting mistakes and proofreading what you just wrote, which is fine with me because I have all day to get the work done. I normally work on the HVAC systems writing for an hour or two and then take a break and visit my friend at a local business for a while before I come home and finish my daily work. I will do this for a few more years and then I am going to cut down my hours so I can focus on playing music with my band and hanging out with my family. I may do a gig at this air conditioned swanky bar this week with my buddy and it could open doors to a lot of other local businesses giving us gigs in their places too.

My hands are numb right now and I think I need to put them in a pot of hot water to warm them up.

Okay, I am back after a soak in the hot water for ten minutes to warm up my frigid fingers and hands.

I need to decide today if I am going to buy this small drum or not from the music shop near me. I am a bit up in the air waiting for my bandmate to get back on the bandwagon with our practice sessions. He is really distracted by his heating and cooling repair job and told me he doesn’t really have time to play because he is too busy doing duct cleaning jobs during the day. He said he has no energy at night to practice and that he has to be up early the next morning to work for the company in this town. I know he does a/c repair and things like that, but I have to work each day too yet I have time to play in our band. I think he is just making excuses and if he can’t get back to playing on a regular basis then I may need to move on and find someone who really wants to succeed. The air quality systems I work on in the day takes a lot of energy from me, but I still have it in me to practice my music at the end of the day. I think his mind is just cluttered up with thought and he feels like he is always busy.

I am getting pretty hungry for my breakfast considering that it is almost noon and I haven’t had any food yet except for some coffee and chocolate. When I get up in the morning I make a cup of coffee and drink it with some maltitol chocolate and unsalted peanuts. When you eat that healthy type of dark chocolate with peanuts, it tastes just like a Snickers bar, but without all of the sugar and whatnot that they put in those famous candy bars. I eat this in the morning before I have my normal breakfast near the local business by the sea. I have the same routine every single day, and although it can get monotonous, it keeps me on track for what I need to get done each day. I like that better than working 50 hours during the weekdays at the HVAC business and having weekends free. Mondays are not any different than Saturdays in my book, and I like it this way because it gives my days structure and I do well with habits like this. The heating rep does the same thing as I and we meet each day to work on HVAC equipment while we talk about what we are doing that week with our families and whatnot. I have a really simple life here overseas and like it this way, as opposed to the rat race back in the States. I just miss my family and my mom’s warm fireplace while she is making dinner for us all. I will see her soon though!

New HVAC technology

I am just plugging along today with my work here in the office, wondering where my life is going to take me over the next year. Part of me wants to run back to the safety of my hometown and be around my friends and family while they are still here. I left my flock about eight years ago after a breakup and have been living away from them ever since. I go home to visit a couple times a year, but it isn’t the same as living there, so I need to decide if I’ll keep living abroad. Air conditioning filter sales is what I do here, along with chasing my musical dream of playing in a band, but I really miss my family back home and am thinking about maybe moving back at the end of this year. But the local contractor back home may not have to work for me anymore as he is going to be retiring soon with his HVAC company. I’m sure I could find some work back home but I am afraid I may never connect with another musician the way I am here in Europe. I will let time tell me the solution while I keep working for the HVAC business here in town and play my music with my bandmate. I will appreciate living here knowing that it may only be a little while longer before I head back home to be around my family and friends again. I could do some electric heating system repairs back home for this new contractor I guess.

I am going to make a big salad today for the rest of the week and get back to my routine of eating salads for lunch each day.

It is easy to do if you make the salad beforehand in a big tupperware bowl and have it ready for the week.

I find myself eating more salad when it is easily accessible and it also makes me want to finish it before it goes bad. But if I don’t make the salad beforehand I can end up taking the easy way out and just eating grilled cheese sandwiches everyday. Heat pump repair keeps me busy each afternoon and it is nice to eat a salad first because it gives me a lot of energy to work on heating devices for the remainder of the afternoon without getting so hungry. A grilled cheese sandwich fills me up at first but I find myself getting hungry pretty quickly and needing more food before my workday is done. I think the HEPA filter salesman was right when she said that salad has a lot of vitamins and fiber to keep you full longer. I am going to write for another 30 minutes and then make that salad like a good boy should. My home services friend eats a salad every single day and she looks about 15 years younger than she really is, which baffles most customers who come into her local business each day once they find out her true age. I would like to be like her, so I am going to make it a point to eat salad daily.
