Catastrophic Heating, Ventilation and A/C failure can be avoided

My sleeping pattern is fairly identifiable in the fact that I can sleep through just about anything.

My spouse easily thinks I could sleep outside, next to the street and not wake up.

Not so sure about that but, she does have a point. The term heavy sleeper has nothing on me. But, you won’t hear me complaining. I have several friends who complain all the time that they never get the sleep they need. My situation is the complete opposite. The job I do is both physical and stressful so when I get home, I relax and shortly after dinner, I am out. Every morning is the same, I rise just before the alarm is set to go off. I am both deeply rested and reinvigorated. The only evenings that I am unable to get sleep are those where there is a child needing our help. I will wake up in an instant for that. Additionally, if I detect something going on with the house, that too will raise me from our slumber. The Heating, Ventilation and A/C going down for the count is one of those things that will get me up out of bed in the middle of the evening. Recently, that is just what happened. And, I still think enjoy I could have prevented this situation. Normally, every fall I have the Heating, Ventilation and A/C tech come out to do her service check on the heating system prior to the depths of winter. For some reason, I lost track of time and didn’t get the service as soon as I should have. Then, the Wintertide temps were on top of us sooner than usual. Now, I am scrambling to replace the heating system because the repairs cost more than it is worth.
