My family and I have been debating whether we want to go to our friend’s home for Christmas or just stay home with our family.
These friends invited us to spend a few mornings with them, and we have not seen them is almost numerous years.
They just moved into a home about several hours from us. I would not mind taking the family to our friend’s home if it were not for the condition of their house. The people I was with and I like them so much, however they do not have the same common of residing that we are used to. For example, their home does not have any furnace. They do not think that it is necessary. They have a few section gas oil furnaces in their home to keep the rooms warm that they frequent. In their residing room, they have a small, electric fireplace that keeps that room pretty comfortable. The kitchens that our family stay in are not so warm, but last time we went, I brought our kerosene furnace that our husband uses in his garage. I forgot to bring kerosene though, so our husband told myself and others to make sure that I turned it off before the kerosene got absolutely low. I thought that I turned it off, but I absolutely just turned it down. In the middle of the evening, we woke up to a room filled with soot, and it was terrible. I am so thankful that we woke up because we would have entirely died if we had not. It is for this reason that I think I would rather just stay home with our family than take them to our friend’s home for Christmas.
