Several years ago, my niece posted on social media all about how she was able to do her own A/C repair and I was shocked, to say the least.
It would never occur to me that I should try and repair my own a/c.
But when I asked her all about it, she said that’s what you have to do when you don’t have a bunch of extra money lying around. You just try to repair your own a/c! Anyway, she was able to do it herself, without even getting help from her hubby, who is basically a loser. She did online research by putting in the problems the a/c was experiencing, and an A/C repair website popped up. This led her to find an online video that explained what the problem was and exactly how to repair it. There was even a link to order the necessary parts from that famous online retailer store. So, she ordered the a/c part, paid for a quick shipping, and then got to work the next day doing the a/c maintenance. She told me that it was really straight-forward. She just watched the video all the way through and then she started it over and turned it back on. She was able to do the a/c maintenance step by step, pausing the video as she went. I was just flabbergasted, and I keep thinking about it. I think that the next time my a/c stops working, I might just decide to do some DIY a/c maintenance myself. I will put the “symptoms” into the website, and then depending on what it says, I will decide whether it is something I can really do or not. I guess if all that I have to do is unscrew a single part and screw another one it, I can do it!
