My business partner and I found out that we need a new HVAC unit for our commercial retail space. We knew there was a chance that the HVAC unit needed to be replaced, but my partner and I were hoping that the contractor would be able to repair the machine one more time. My business partner and I have been in this space for approximately three years. We’ve had a number of issues with the heating and the air conditioning equipment. We had to close the commercial retail space on one occasion when we had absolutely no heat and the temperature outside was in the single digits. We knew the HVAC unit was old when we purchased the commercial retail space, but we were hopeful that repairs could be made for a couple of years. The contractor gave us some bad news on Saturday. It’s going to cost more than 10 grand to replace the heating equipment. It was a huge shock when we heard the number. I thought the number would be far less since we didn’t have to replace the air conditioner. We don’t have any choice except to pay for the replacement parts. My business partner and I cannot close down the commercial retail space for days and days. We can also be fine from the city if we are not providing heat while we are open for business hours. We scheduled a time to meet with the contractor so we can go over the specific details to have the work completed. At least we won’t need to close the store, because the contractor can complete the work in the middle of the night.
