Sometimes, the first corporation you choose to do business with, isn’t always the best company.

I have learned this the hard way, multiple times over. So many times I would just randomly choose a random place to go with, and they would turn out to be pretty bad. So when it came to choosing a heating and cooling business, I knew that I was going to have to be careful. I had just moved into a new neighborhood, and so I would have to choose a new HVAC dealer. My previous A/C corporation was not great at all. I didn’t do my research on the company and just had them come out to do simple HVAC maintenance. However, the air conditioning technician was rude and overcharged me. He barely did anything to my HVAC unit, and I could tell because part of the maintenance was cleaning the system out, which he didn’t do. I was incredibly unhappy with the job they did, and when I looked at their reviews, I could see I wasn’t the only one. They only had 1 star out of 5, and the only other closest business to me had 2 stars. So now that I am in a new place, I will not be making that mistake again, this time I will be doing research ahead of time to see what heating and cooling business is right for me. I am looking for a reasonably priced, kind and patient HVAC company. That’s not that much to ask for and I am hoping that I can have my new HVAC device looked at soon.

I don’t know how, but it seems like that air conditioning vents get really dirty, really easily.

It’s always annoying when this happens, but I know why. It’s because of all of the pet hair, as well as my own hair, and a ton of other dust and debris that get stuck in the ductwork and out into the air and A/C vents. Whenever I notice the HVAC air vents getting dirty, it’s really easy to fix. You could take a paper towel to get the dirt and dust off, however there is the chance that the dust will just fall to the floor instead of sticking to the paper towel. My most preferred method is to just get my vacuum cleaner and just suck all of the dirt, dust and other stuff stuck in the air vents. It just amazes me and disgusts me at the same time, watching the air vents go from a grey color, back to the white color they were supposed to be. It is really satisfying to watch actually. Just with a little bit of maintenance like this, I not only help my furnace system and cooling machine, but that also improves the indoor air quality a little bit. I would suggest you go room to room and check all of your HVAC vents, to see if they need to be cleaned. Some of the vents might be on the ceiling, so for those you’ll need a ladder to go and clean them properly. It can be a pain, but it doesn’t take much time and helps you in the long run.

Today was a stressful day for me.

• After a long day after work, I just wanted to relax, just like any other day.

But today was different. On my way home, I ran over something which caused me to get a flat tire. I didn’t have a spare, so I had to call for roadside service. The most annoying part was I was only a few miles away from my house. I tried calling for roadside service but due to connection issues with my phone, it made it really difficult to speak to them, and for them to hear me. It took 30 minutes to try and explain where I was, what my car looked like and what not. Then it took another 2 hours for them to actually find me and get things fixed. I was finally able to drive home, and all I wanted to do was lay down in bed and forget about today, but I couldn’t help but to notice my house felt weird. It was hotter than usual, and when I messed with the A/C it wouldn’t turn on. I suddenly remembered that I hadn’t changed the A/C filter in awhile, and I prayed that was the issue. If there is something that I need to get in a better habit of doing, it’s remembering to change the air filter. I quickly grabbed my last HEPA air filter and jammed it in there. Finally, the HVAC system came back to life and cooling air began to come out of the HVAC vents. Finally now, I should be able to lay down and rest.

I seriously love my central heating system.

No joke.

I know that is probably weird to hear, because you probably won’t find many people that absolutely love their HVAC components, but I love mine, and here’s why. Back when I was in college, I lived in a dorm that had the worst heating and air conditioning. I could go without A/C, because I usually spent my time in stores or bars where they had air conditioning anyways. But heating? I couldn’t go without heating, and I couldn’t even go to places to escape the cold, because at night most places are closed, and night is when it is coldest. So I decided to get a portable heater, and it did pretty well. I was super impressed with the portable furnace, but it did well enough to satisfy me. Well, I just moved into my first apartment after graduation, and I was kind of expecting the same kind of HVAC that I had back in college. I have heard a lot of people complain about window air conditioners, however I was lucky. I got an apartment that had central heating. After feeling how different a central furnace feels compared to a portable one, I never want to go back. Now I can feel warm all throughout my home, rather than just one room. When I was in college, I felt limited because if I went too far away from the portable heating unit, I would start to feel the chill of the cold. With my central HVAC system, that is no longer an issue. No matter where I go I am warm.

What do you do when you can’t sleep at night, due to a noise? You might recommend getting rid of the source of the noise, but what happens if you also can’t sleep without the thing that makes the noise? Then you’re in a bad situation like I am. You see, my air conditioner and heating unit makes a really loud noise when turning on, apart from the usual click when it turns on, it makes a lot of other noise. I am a very light sleeper, so this ends up interrupting my sleep. However, when I turn off the heating and A/C device, I will usually have my sleep interrupted because then I will wake up sweating hot or freezing cold. I can’t seem to win in this scenario, because I definitely can’t go without heating and cooling, that is just a must in my home for my comfort. But I also can’t go without sleep, that is going to affect every other part of my life. I have been considering looking into different types of HVAC machines that are known for being quiet, but I don’t know whether I would have a new HVAC installation. That stuff costs money, and that is money that I can’t afford to spend. I am not sure what I am going to do, I might call a heating and A/C business to see what they say, and what they would recommend. Maybe one of the local A/C companies can offer me some kind of deal or special, where it’s not nearly as expensive.
