At the house that I rent, one requirement is that the property management supplies the air filters for the central heating and air conditioning system unit.

I am not too fond of this because the air filters that they give are awful.

They are not even as good as the standard air filters I used to buy for my central heating and air conditioning system. So what I do is just pay the small fee they charge for their horrible air filters and write it off as part of my rent. Then I go out and buy the quality air filters that I want to buy. And the air filters that I do buy are the high quality HEPA air filters for my central heating and air conditioning system! I always like to buy these air filters because when it comes to HEPA, the brand is the absolute best. Not only can they last longer than regular brand air filters, but they also kind of work as an indoor air cleaner to a small extent. It is no means like having a whole home air purification system or even a portable air purification system, but these HEPA air filters do a real good job in keeping the indoor air quality of my home that I rent at bay. This is as long as I keep up on the cleaning of the house every single month. So that is how I get around and deal with the horrible air filters forced on me by the property management company of the house that I am currently renting. I look forward to moving later!

I can remember the good old days when I was growing up how things were much different, and in a sense, much simpler as well.

Take air conditioning for instance. Most people did not have central heating and air conditioning in those days. It was a furnace for the winter and a window air conditioning system for the summer. When the window air conditioning system would break down, there was no having to call the local heat and a/c dealership to send out a certified heating and air conditioning specialist to fix your air conditioning system! You would just take the window a/c out of the window which depending on the size could have been easy or hard. And then you would bring it to an electronics repair shop. That would be it! No spending tons of money on heating and cooling repair like it is today when dealing with central air conditioning. From my memory, it cost a fraction of the price of today’s air conditioning repair. And that is even converting the value of the dollar from years ago to today. So all in all I have to say that the old way of heating and cooling your home was way better and cheaper in my opinion. If there was a way that I could go back to all of that these days I would in a second. But the only issue with that is the electronic repair shops that are still around today are nothing like the ones back when. They would not even think about fixing a window air conditioning unit.

I think it is honestly super interesting how in Australia the Winter plus the warm season are completely reversed! If you did not know, during the Wintertime in the USA it is super boiling over there in Australia. They are cranking their central heating plus air conditioner’s cooling on Christmas! But then in the warmest season of the year while every one of us in the States are all suffering with boiling heat in most parts of the country cranking our central heating plus air conditioner’s cooling, the Aussies are over there cranking their central heating plus air conditioner’s heating. It might be the middle of June plus they will be freezing plus having wild snow storm blizzards care about every one of us in the States do in December. It is entirely different but also interesting how it works with the Heating, Ventilation, plus A/C needs plus weather in general in random parts of the world. I am not sure if I would entirely care about to have Christmas time with over 1 hundred degrees. That would be so horrible. Maybe it is because I am used to the way things are over here in this country. And it is the same to them over there to how they are used to the way things are there. If you grew up plus knew nothing but Australia, then you would be completely used to Chrtistmas being the super boiling warm season time of the year plus never think anything more of it. The world is an interesting place, that is for sure. But I am ecstatic I live in the fantastic country of Canada to be totally fair with you all!

I let our amazing wife buy plus install the thermostat because I wanted it to look better. The silver surround plus gray innerface is genuinely pretty. It matches our lake cabin decor plus fits our current theme. I found I prefer the functionality of the thermostat too. I am not too stupid to operate it either. They make this thermostat pretty idiot proof. I can walk by the thermostat plus it lights up to show me the temperature. I can check the outdoor temperature plus the hourly temperatures. I also can control the heating plus cooling from our iPhone; once I actually downloaded the app it was amazing how easy it is to set up a residential heating, ventilation plus A/C program. I also get alerts on air filter swings, humidity levels, air quality troubles plus energy efficient settings. This thermostat is simply amazing.

My lake house is an older 1 and it has regularly caused problems, then I have also needed to rip down all the drywall and start fresh, all the plumbing had to be changed over when it rusted.

I have purchased a new roof recently since it was totally outdated and falling to pieces.

Another con of an older lake house is that mine didn’t come with an air duct, but there simply wasn’t that possibility back then… However, in order to have the whole beach lake house temperature our options were a ductless possibility or various units. I decided that a ductless heating and air conditioning component sounded like the smartest idea. I have an outdoor air compressor and multiple indoor air handlers that hook to it, however each air handler has its own control component and it controls the heating and cooling of a single room. The dining room, dining room, home offices and bathrooms all have their own heating and air conditioning. That means I can set customized heating and air conditioning hot and cold temperatures. It is unquestionably nice since areas that aren’t in use, I don’t need to pay to supply temperature control, then my youngsters can each set their home offices to what they want and it will not bother the other. I can have A/C when I cook and not affect people who want to be cozy in the main dining room… Zone control really saves quite a bit of money and stops all the control component arguments. Another pro of having a ductless method is that the whole method doesn’t require as much cleaning and service as a usual air duct operated system. I am unquestionably glad that I ended up with this unit.
