Can’t depend on word of mouth to grow business in this day and age

There was a time when word of mouth was sufficient to grow a business.

As long as the company was good at what they did, they could rely on satisfied clients to tell everyone and grow the business. There was also newspaper ads. Clients searched the newspaper or phone books to find professional services. Now everyone looks online and that’s where we need to concentrate our advertising campaign. I am an HVAC dealer. I don’t know a lot about computer stuff. My skills are limited to the heating and cooling field. I hired an SEO business to create and manage my digital advertising campaign. They started by building an HVAC company website for me. There is a page for each of our services. Our phone number is included at the top of each page. That is the only part of the strategy that I can explain or understand. I know the SEO team does something that helps the HVAC website to show up better on google. We don’t pay for google ads or anything like that. They use specific words that people tend to type into a search bar when they are in need of HVAC services in our area. Once those words are entered, our HVAC company hopefully shows up and they will be tempted to click on our site. Then I have the opportunity for a new customer. I don’t understand the behind the scenes process and I don’t care. I just rely on the SEO department to keep generating new business for me. The online advertising strategies have been working really well. I have never seen so many new customers before. It is absolutely wonderful. It is a more reliable solution for getting the company name out there to clients.
