Flying to different states and experiencing extreme weather

I am willing to fly to a different state in order to see a good band.

  • I feel it is worth the cost of the plane ticket to see a show I want to see.

I will get a decent hotel, eat at a nice place and enjoy my evening. I don’t drink, smoke or have kids. There is no other big expense in my life. So I can afford to do this. The one thing that stinks is the weather though. When traveling all over the place, I experience a lot of different climates. I typically stick to the upper north due to my family or the deep south due to my friends. These are drastically different temperatures that I experience. In the fall is probably the worst. I could see a concert in a southern state and the temperature is around 90 degrees. I spend my whole trip wishing for AC and hoping my hotel has decent cooling equipment. The concert venue is typically inside because going without AC for a long show would be brutal. But, if I do a concert in the north, it is freezing cold. The weather can range from the 80s and all the way to the 50s. I then worry about heating. Sometimes the hardcore northerners don’t turn on their heating equipment until snow. I have been in hotels that have central HVAC and the heating was not on. Changing temperatures makes it so my body never adjusts either. Seems like I am either freezing cold or really overheated when I do a concert.
