Getting new radiant heated flooring at home

The first thing I did when I bought my home was rip up the seasoned carpet; then the previous homeowner had laminate floors in the kitchen plus washrooms.

  • The rest of the home was a brown rug.

Not even the same rug, the whole home was shades of brown; it was totally hideous. I ripped everything up plus put down new flooring. The whole home has hardwood floors with the exception of the kitchen plus washrooms. I did a penny brick in the washrooms plus a porcelain square brick in the kitchen. I am entirely thrilled with the way my floors turned out. I am thrilled I didn’t chop any corners either. I spent extra for fine quality flooring material. I also hired professionals to ensure the job was well done! While in this process it is straight-forward to install radiant heating. I debated plus decided that it was worth it. The electric heated mats went on top of the cement board plus before the finished hardwood or tile. Now I even have heating throughout my whole house. I was able to unfasten my gas fireplace to free up space in the home office. I don’t require AC due to living up in the great white north, so now all my heating, ventilation and A/C needs are taken care of plus out of sight. The heated flooring takes up no space plus isn’t an eyesore. Since it is electric based none of the heat rises to the ceiling or creates cold spots. I have a more energy efficient heating system now. It will last me and others around 15 years, by that point I am sure I will want new carpets.
