Working at the farm shop was a far cry from the busy life I was accustomed to back in the city. We got a few customers coming by each day to pick up supplies. There was not much traffic which was how I liked it. A few years back, my partner and I had quit our jobs, bought a farm, and moved away from the hustle and bustle. We wanted to raise our kids in a calmer environment. As we scouted for places, we came across the perfect place with a farmhouse, barn, and land. We’d spent so much time and money, but finally, we were in business and selling produce from our farm. Last Saturday, I opened the shop as usual in the afternoon and went to turn on the AC unit. It was so hot outside that there was no way I’d stay in the shop without proper air conditioning. After an hour, the AC unit stopped working. I went to inspect the issue and turned it on once more. From then on, the AC unit kept annoyingly turning on and off. This was quite frustrating, so I called my partner to explain the issue with the air conditioning. The best solution was to call the local independent HVAC expert to come to take a look. As my partner called him, coincidentally, the gentleman was heading to our shop to pick supplies. He arrived and inspected the issue with the failing AC unit. His inspection revealed that our thermostat was low on batteries. This was causing the miscommunication with the AC unit, turning it on and off. The expert restored proper AC function by putting new batteries in the thermostat.
