My father almost let his business go down the drain

From a truly young age, I listened to my father’s tales of how his day was at work.

While most guys would listen to fairytales and other magical stories, most of my stories consisted of the interesting things he noticed while he worked as an HVAC professional.

His HVAC job at that time required quite a bit of travelling to rural areas, and he saw some pretty amazing things! Eventually, my father chose to quit being an HVAC tech and with my mother, created their own heating and cooling appliance business… The same company he runs to this day. When he was in his 50s and having a hard time keeping the company afloat, he asked me for a hand. At that time I was easily working as an HVAC professional at their business. My father told me that the HVAC company hadn’t been doing especially well in years, and that he had tried basically everything. He then told me he was about to call it quits. There was no way I was going to let all of his difficult work go to waste and let this once booming company down. I quizzed my father on all of the things he tried before, and hastily realized he hadn’t tried any form of online advertising! My father was pretty much still in the mindset that people get their information from the papers and listen to the radio to get their news. I told my father about the essential advantages of digital advertising, and he seemed hesitant, although he gave me the go ahead since both of us had nothing to lose in this endeavor. I contacted an online advertising business, and their first question they asked was about our website. I can’t lie, our website was pretty ancient, so I didn’t have much to say. The first goal was web building and web design, after that the upcoming focus was going to be SEO.
