Replacing the faulty air conditioner improved the air quality in grandma's house

Our grandmother lived a short drive from our house.

Instead of going home after school, my brother and I would walk to her house.

Most of the time, she was seated on the front porch waiting for us to arrive. After we greeted her, we’d go into the house for some snacks and fun conversations. Last week, we went to her home as usual and found dad’s truck outside. We went into the house and learned grandma wasn’t feeling well. The old AC unit had caused her to fall ill and needed fixing. None of us had been aware an aircon unit could affect one’s health until that day. Dad had taken grandma to the hospital then phoned the AC company for assistance. An HVAC technician was working on the central heating and cooling unit when we got to the house. Dad informed us that the cooling unit had lots of mold and mildew in it. No one had serviced it for some time, which caused the issue to get worse. The mold and mildew spores had spread across the house. Breathing them in would cause us all to get sick, but at least the issue was getting fixed. Dad talked to the HVAC technician about an annual AC maintenance plan to make sure that never happened again. The aircon expert had several options for him and went into detail about each. Every year, an AC professional would come to grandma’s house and check the air conditioning unit. If there were any problems, he’d fix them then clean different parts like the air filter and condenser unit. Doing so would keep all infection-causing gunk and organisms away and improve the air quality in her home. The matter was resolved, and grandma’s health got better. She was happy dad had jumped into action and helped her just in the nick of time.
