Ever since the HVAC machine went out, it has been incredibly cold in my home.
The furnace system going out was definitely a surprise, since I have had the same heating unit for many years without issue. I don’t know what happened, maybe the temperatures finally became too much for it and it stopped working. Since it is the middle of winter, the temperatures are really cold outside. Not only that, but most heating and A/C businesses are booked because of other people with similar issues with their furnaces. Thankfully, I was able to find an independent HVAC contractor who can come out in a few days. That might seem like a while, but most of the A/C businesses I spoke to couldn’t come out for 2 weeks! So obviously with my home being so cold inside, it’s the last place I want to be. I wanted to go outside and stay at a friend’s home, or maybe a store or something, just something to get away from the cold. However, it seems like I didn’t have a choice either way, because there is an incredibly heavy storm going on right now. The blinding kind of rain storm, and it would be dangerous to drive right now. If I didn’t know any better, I would think a hurricane is passing through the rain is that bad, but no, it’s just a really bad storm with loud lightning and thunder. So even though I would love to go outside and find a warmer place to stay, it looks like I am going to be stuck inside my ice cold home for a while longer.
