Well, I should probably also mention that when I finally got a vehicle at least I can have the benefit of air conditioner while driving to and from the work site.
Early in my career I did not have the benefit of climate control in my working environments. This was mostly because I was in construction and warehousing. Contending with the southern summer heat could be downright dangerous. Luckily, my bosses knew this well, and made sure we always had plenty of water. There were some days out in that hot sun when I got burned to a crisp. I learned to love aloe lotion! Air conditioner was something that I came home to at long last after a work shift. I would often catch myself thinking about that moment during the thick of the work day. Well, I should probably also mention that when I finally got a vehicle at least I can have the benefit of air conditioner while driving to and from the work site. However, my truck’s air conditioner was never as good as the one I enjoyed at home. Then, I got a job as an assistant manager at a grocery store and it was a big change for me. I mean, it was a big change in a lot of ways, but I couldn’t help but focus on finally being able to enjoy air conditioner throughout the entirety of my shift! Need me to move pallets of merchandise onto the floor and stock shelves? No problem, at least I’m cool and comfortable! Need me to walk up and down the entirety of the store aisles to price check, crouching low, and tip-toeing to look up high? No problem, at least I won’t break a sweat in the air conditioning! I was a cheerful employee.
