I noticed that the temperatures in the bedroom were five or six degrees warmer than the temperatures and the rest of the house.
I didn’t know why we were having problems, but I did know that I did not want the problems to persist.
I called an HVAC company that specializes in ductwork repairs and indoor air quality problems. Problems with the ductwork seemed to be the most likely culprit after I performed some troubleshooting examinations on the system. The ductwork needed a couple of repairs. There were areas where the ductwork wasn’t even connected, especially in the area above the bedroom where I noticed the DraStic difference in temperatures. The repair technician fixed all of the ductwork issues and then he cleaned and sanitized everything too. The house definitely smells more clean and fresh since the duct work was sealed and sanitized. The temperatures in the bedroom seem to be cooler than they were and now the whole house is close to the same temperature no matter where you happen to be at the time. The climate in the bedroom is so cool and comfortable that we don’t have to use the ceiling fan anymore. It’s very strange to walk into that bedroom in total silence. Without the ceiling fan running, it is very quiet in that part of the house. I also saw a lower electricity bill this month and I think the savings is probably due to the repairs too. Now that I’m not wasting as much aire, it doesn’t cost as much money to actually cool that house. There were lots of reasons why having the work done was the right decision and I don’t regret making the repair for one second.
