I have lived in a hot area nearly all my life and yet I still don’t think I’m ever going to be used to it.
It feels like every summer that the heat just gets worse and worse.
When we had a summer heat wave come through, the temperature easily swelled into the high 90s, there was even one Tuesday where it hit 101 degrees! If you have no air conditioning during these temperatures I truly sympathize with you, it would be dangerous to be out in the heat of that point. Thankfully, I had had my air conditioning system tuned up just before the heat arrived. We have been warned that there will be a heatwave coming days in advance and I very quickly scheduled an appointment with my community HVAC business. I was incredibly lucky because I was one of the last people to be able to get an appointment before they were all filled up. The heating and AC technician came out to my home and serviced my HVAC unit just before the heat wave arrived. It was just in time too because if it hadn’t been serviced I don’t think my air conditioning system would have been able to withstand the heat. Since the temperatures are only getting worse and worse every year I’m not looking to move into a cooler state. However, I don’t want to move from one extreme to the next, I don’t want to go far north because then I’ll just be dealing with extreme cold. But I’m thinking of moving somewhere where the heat is less intense within the next year.
