Time to remodel the attic

These last couple of weeks have been insane.

  • I have waited while the remodelling on our new home is finished before the first November snowfall.

I wanted new showers in both of my bathrooms, but later on when I decided to replace the numerous sinks, vanities, & countertops as well. For once I was blindsided by fantastic news when our boss surprised myself and others with a pretty amazing pay bump at the start of the remodelling process. This meant that I had much more capital to work with in the investments I was about to make on our house. On the other side of the spectrum, I think it’s fair to say that I went too far in one direction & bit off more than I could reasonably chew. When you have some repairmen coming in & out of your house a few times during the month for a very long time, and then it starts to get pretty intense. My favorite type of result of having more income through this process meant I could get some of the best new home inspectors to comb through every inch of our condo to determine what needs to be upgraded in the event I sell it in the near or distant future. I had one of my HVAC repair techs come over to inspect & grade the quality of our indoor heating & cooling system. Without him, I might have never l learned that my air duct was exposed in our attic. There was no insulation wrapping the ventilation, nor was the attic insulated either. I suddenly realized I had been wasting tons of cash from the sheer degree of energy waste in our modern HVAC setup. Switching gears a tad bit, I made the choice to install a new A/C along with brand new air duct. All of the work done on our central heating & cooling system was finished after everything else wrapped up. I just barely got it all done in time for Wintertime. It sure feels great knowing I will have a better source of heat this year & all the years to come.
