Bankruptcy and how you should file it

My partner plus I had been together for nearly 20 years, before the people I was with and I decided to get a divorce.

  • Both of us had gotten into a good deal of debt together, including the house, the various cars, the boat, plus the RV.

After my partner plus I divorced, I could not afford to pay all of the bills on my own. I got further & further behind and I could not think what to do, when all of the creditors started hassling me everyday. Luckily, an old buddy of mine is a great bankruptcy lawyer. She told me that filing for bankruptcy would end all of the nasty phone calls, texts, plus letters. The lawyer filed the petition to the court to claim bankruptcy. My lawyer buddy did not charge much to help, but I had to pay up for all of the filing fees plus court paperwork. I don’t think how my ex-partner is paying off all of the bills either, now that our income has been cut in half. I hope the bankruptcy lawyer will try to get all of my debt cleared, otherwise, I’m going to have to repay the debt. The lawyer informed me I will really have to make a $1,000 payment every single month. If that happens, I’ll have to sell the lake house plus transfer into a much smaller apartment. The men will miss the yard plus the swingset, plus I guess that makes me suppose the saddest of all. They did not even want us to chop up, plus now they might have to leave their school plus all of their friends. I knew things would be hard when my partner plus I got divorced, but I did not anticipate so many of these bad financial struggles.
