I forgot to grab my wallet when I left the house

The guy was polite and kind and he left me alone to install the new AC unit

I left the house in a hurry and I forgot to grab my wallet. I didn’t realize the huge mistake until I was standing in line at the service station waiting to pay for my gas and cigarettes. I reached into my pocket, but my wallet wasn’t there. I went out to the truck to look for my wallet. I searched all over the truck, the glovebox, and the front seat. I didn’t find my wallet anywhere, but I needed gas to get to the next job. I was supposed to drive to the beach to help a customer with an AC installation. I called the customer and told the guy that I was going to be a few minutes late. I called my boss after that and I explained the situation. He laughed a little, but he agreed to meet me at the gas station. About thirty minutes later, I saw my boss pull into the parking lot. He was driving another work truck and he told me to take it to the job. I hopped in the work truck and left for the beach. My boss took the other work truck back to the shop. I was only 30 minutes late for the AC installation job and the customer didn’t seem bothered at all. The guy was polite and kind and he left me alone to install the new AC unit. When I was done, I went back to my apartment. I still thought I lost my wallet, until I saw it sitting on the dresser next to the bed.
