I have recently started a task on a cruise ship that takes entirely long trips out to sea, and I love spending time on the sea and I consistently thought it would be fun for me to be able to travel so much for work. However, I must admit that this job is not how I thought it would be. I thought I would be spending time on the ocean and getting to see new sites. That just has not been the case, but since I started working at this new job on the cruise line the air conditioning has not been working. I’ve been on the ship for about 6 weeks now and haven’t had air conditioning once, then not to mention it’s the middle of the summer and most of the guests are starting to get entirely distraught that the air conditioning isn’t working properly. I think that the management of the cruise line is starting to get pressure from upper management but nothing has been done to repair the problem. I believe they need to call a local heating and air conditioning supplier that services cruise ships, however it doesn’t seem like the managers want to do anything like this. I think we are going to have to dock and I’m going to be out of work for a while, but the air-conditioning is fixed on the boat. I’m starting to get distraught that once the air-conditioning is fixed I might not have a task. I’m going to have to begin looking for something new once we dock.
