When I was standing in the kitchen last week, I thought I saw a shadow go across my foot. There’s a skylight in the kitchen plus I am always seeing shadows from the sunlight shining through the trees in there. I continued with my brunch preparations, however after that I saw another shadow. I watched a shadow fly across the floor. It went over to the air vents. So I took my prep work to the table plus sat down so I could watch the floor. It took about more than 2 minutes before another small grey creature ran from the air vent to the pet dish. It grabbed a piece of pet food then it went back into the air vent. I yelled for my spouse. Then I just sat there pointing at the air vent. My spouse started toward the air vent, just in time to have a couple more mice come out of it plus run toward the pet dish again. They were stealing food and then putting it in the HVAC duct. My spouse picked up the phone plus called the exterminator, plus then he called the Heating, Ventilation plus A/C corporation, too. Of course, I felt bad that he called the exterminator. I was thinking they may have some babies in there, plus I felt guilty, but I didn’t want to have hundreds of mice in my house! The exterminator showed up the same afternoon and then he said that we had caught them before they had time to build their nests, although he found about a dozen in air vents. The Heating, Ventilation plus A/C supplier found some small holes that were going to the outside. After repairing the holes and cleaning plus sanitizing the ductwork, they guaranteed that we’d have no more problems with mice.
