I stood in the bedroom last week, and I thought I saw a shadow go across my foot.
The two of us have a skylight in the bedroom and I am always seeing these shadows from the daylight shining through the trees.
I continued with my dinner preparations, but then we saw another shadow on the floor. I watched a shadow fly across the floor and end where my air vent began. I took my prep task over to the table and sat down so I could watch the floor. It took about two hours before a small grey creature ran from the air vent to the animal dish again. It grabbed a piece of animal food and went back into the air vent with it. So I yelled for my hubby and then we just sat there pointing at the air vent, looking like a mindless idiot. My hubby started toward the air vent, just in time to have two mice come out of it and run toward the animal dish again. They were stealing food and hiding them in the HVAC duct. My hubby picked up his iphone and called the exterminator, and then he called the Heating & A/C business that we use. I felt awful that he called the exterminator. I was thinking they may have some babies in there, and so of course I felt guilty, even though I didn’t want to have hundreds of mice in my HVAC duct and air vents, either. The exterminator showed up the same afternoon we called him. He said we called before they had time to build their nests, but he found about a dozen in different air vents. The Heating & A/C corporation found small holes that were going to the outside. After repairing the holes and cleaning and sanitizing the HVAC duct, they told us that we wouldn’t have any more complications with mice.
