I was really excited when I found out that my girlfriend was pregnant.
Both of us knew it was going to be difficult to raise a baby, but we were ready for the challenge.
We were already living together in an apartment. We upgraded to a place with two bedrooms so the baby could have a nursery. The delivery was a huge success and the baby and my girlfriend were both in perfect health after the delivery. We brought our daughter home on the third day of June. It was very hot and humid outside. I was thankful for the AC in the car on the way home. My girlfriend took a nap while I spent some time with our daughter. After a few minutes, both of the girls in my life were asleep. I fell asleep too for a brief moment. I was woken quickly when I heard the cries from my daughter. She was very upset. I tried to calm her down, but I could not get her to stop crying. I didn’t know what to do and I didn’t want to wake up my girlfriend. I decided to take my daughter for a ride in the car. It was still very hot and humid, so I turned on the AC. I think my daughter liked the hum of the air conditioner, because she quickly fell asleep. I didn’t even have to leave the driveway and she was out like a light. I was comfortable with the air conditioner running too. I rolled the window down on both sides of the car and I closed my eyes for a few minutes.
